TAV Airports Holding assumed operation of the Istanbul Ataturk Airport Domestic Terminal in July 2005. In 2009, TAV Airports carried on with the expansion work of the Domestic and International Terminals of Ataturk Airport, as well as the construction of an additional outdoor parking lot that began in 2008 pursuant to the supplemental agreement signed with the Turkish State Airports Authority (DHMI). As a result of these efforts, conducted as part of the Istanbul Ataturk Airport Expansion Project, an outdoor parking lot with a capacity of 1.250 vehicles and three passenger bridges at the Domestic Terminal will commence service in 2010. "Many thanks for the information from the Ataturk Airport Website"
TAV have created a model that if replicated in all areas of Turkeys substantial network of airports will give it a system comparable to any in the World and benifit both domestic and international individuals.
Probably the size of the country is perfect to optimise this model as even with major system upgrades the airlines will remain a major necessity and attraction that in conjunction with its central global position make all the airports very important.
